Our Story
Enrichment Beyond The Classroom
Who We Are
The Little Group, consisting of Little Mead Day Nursery's 2 campuses, in Edgemead and Welgelegen was born out of the desire to create a childcare facility that offered nurturing, secure and individualised care for children.

In my journey to find good flexible childcare for my, then 6 month old daughter I decided to leave the corporate world behind and focus on my passion for child care and development. I am now a registered childcare provider.

Our adventure started over 12 years ago in London and Kent, United Kingdom before relocating and opening our now very successful nursery school in Cape Town, South Africa. In March 2024 we opened our second nursery school and Aftercare in Welgelegen, South Africa.
We are committed to providing a happy, safe, warm and stimulating environment for all children to play, learn and develop freely. We encourage children to have a positive attitude and respect for both themselves and others, and to become competent, confident, independent and co-operative individuals
We offer a warm and stimulating learning environment which nurtures your child’s social curiosity by allowing them freedom to choose and time to discover their place in the world. Little Mead is where children can feel at home from home.
Young children need lots of praise, attention and one-to-one care from a trusted individual in order for them to thrive. As a childcare provider it is wonderful to have the flexibility to be able to provide this care to each child.
The Little Mead Difference
Here at Little Mead Day Nursery, we understand you want the very best for your child, and so do we.
At Little Mead Day Nursery, we embrace and delight in the personality of each child by meeting their individual needs guided by the principles of The UK's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and SA's Early Childhood Development (ECD) and their philosophy of learning through play.

Both frameworks include seven areas of learning that are pivotal to your child's learning and development.
But we don't just stop there because we know just how precious their childhood is. After all, they only get one.

From our health and wellbeing to our learning through play activities, our passionate and experienced team goes beyond Government's standards. We want to ensure your child’s learning journey is full of wonderful experiences that they can carry with them throughout their early years.

Don't just take our word for it. Come and experience the Little Mead difference with us.
